Small Beginnings

Zechariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…..”

What do you want to do but haven’t started?  You don’t have to do it all at once.  Take small steps and see the work begin.  I have a vision for a large Christian Woman’s Conference with over 125 in attendance.  A nice touch will be a hand-crafted fabric gift bag for them to take home.  Yesterday 10 women brought sewing machines and cutting boards and had a small beginning.  There were several mistakes which resulted in ripping seams, but lot of laughter, and a general feeling of accomplishment that we had begun.  A 2 day rummage sale had raised almost enough money for the out-of-town speaker.  We look forward to this next April.

Have you ever wanted to sell on eBay, Etsy, or other format on-line but it seems a daunting task.  You don’t have to have an MBA to do that.  Most on-line sites have templates, tutorials and small fees.  You may need a camera with a macro (small flower closeup) setting for close up pictures of jewelry, figurines, glassware, etc.  Outdoor lighting is best but you can buy a daylight bulb for any lamp and make your own indoor shots.  The description is easy, just imagine you are telling the person about your object and write that down.  Research of closed items on eBay will give you an estimate of your selling price.  Collectible books are interesting but not very practical for local value.  Start small…one or two items.  Etsy per item fee is .20 for 4 months.  You can get free boxes and shipping supplies from the US Post Office just by ordering them on line.  Customers pay for shipping.

In this time of poor economy many folks could use extra money.  You have inventory all around you.    Don’t despise a small beginning.  Start your next project today.  Blessings on your small beginning from Estate Jewelry Shop
